Amazon claims there’s a new Flynn book [amazon], Flynn’s World, coming out June 24. I wonder if this is one of the ones that used to be available in a proprietary e-book format from Barnes & Noble or a whole new one?

For those who don’t know, the Flynn books are a spin-off of sorts of Gregory McDonald’s Fletch books; Francis Xavier Flynn first appeared in Confess, Fletch [amazon], the second Fletch book (in written order, not internal chronological).

The other Flynn books are Flynn [amazon], Flynn’s In [amazon] and The Buck Passes Flynn [amazon]. All are top-notch mystery / spy / humor books, although they’re somewhat dated (Buck Passes in particular is a very 1970s book (and yes, I know it wasn’t published until 1981. The 1970s didn’t end until 1982)).

As good as the Fletch and Flynn books are, though, the Time Squared Quartet are a whole different level. Unfortunately, they evidentally didn’t sell well, and Wise Saws hasn’t ever been published.
