A Job I Think I'd Like
Patrick Nielsen Hayden runs through some of his recent reading, including Cory Doctorow's Eastern Standard Tribe and Ken MacLeod's Newton's Wake, then casually mentions that they haven't, you know, been published yet.
To top it off, Charlie Stross comments:
Let me just add (because Patrick is too polite to taunt the peanut gallery) that "Newton's Wake" rocks. I'm just over halfway through it and I think it could be Ken's best novel to date. (Modulo a little editing. Which is Patrick's sometimes-enviable job.)
Now, it's not like I don't have plenty to read -- I've got two freakin bookcases of unread books for goshsake, plus all the stacks. But but but...Ken MacLeod's best novel to date, and it's not scheduled to come out for a year.
I want a job where I get to read all the 0 day b00kz, dammit.
