RSS 0.90
RSS 0.90 is the granddaddy of all the RSS versions.
In this version, RSS stands for RDF Site Summary.
- RSS 0.90 is an RDF format
- it's limited to ASCII
- images are always 88×31, but are optional
- there's a 15-item limit
- items are limited to title and link, with no description
- as an RDF format, items aren't contained inside channels (but shouldn't there be an item in channel listing the items it contains? otherwise, what ties these together?)
- URLs can be http, https, ftp, or mailto -- 0.91 removes https and mailto
