I unfortunately don't remember who first mentioned this book to me; normally self-published books are, well, self-published for a reason. That's probably true in this case too, but simple lack of quality isn't it -- it's wildly imaginative and intriguing, and (with the 101st Airborne camped in the middle of Baghdad) has very much been on my mind again recently.
Recommended for geeks of all stripes -- and now with the first 13 chapters available online.
